What customers say?

“ Best food in springvale with friendly staffs, especially the girl with red hair ”

“ First time here and a very conveniently located place, though it can get busy when it's lunch time. Pictured is the special broken rice and spicy salt and pepper chicken on rice. Also had the orange juice, which was more of a smoothie but pulpy which is exactly how I like it, no what I'm sayin? I wish they didn't use plastic cup for it though for when dining in. Broken rice was really good, the meat was juicy and the egg was perfect for me. Pickled carrots were very juiced up but I love that. Salt pepper chicken was on point, I'd be back here just for that. The staff is very friendly here as well. ”

“ Love the Bún mắm here, even better than in VietNam. The goat hotpot also reall nice and the special smoothie is super. Reasonable price. Nice, friendly service. ”

“ Dropped in early, never been here before. We ordered pork spring rolls, pork chop and broken rice and rare beef pho. Service was a tad distracted, there was also a slight barrier with language. Other then that the food was good. Pork chops were tender not overcooked. Pho was tastyI just found the serving large for me. Sping rolls were nice crisp. ”

“ I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Pho. I’ve got some videos to show you out of it. The food was delicious. The place was clean. The service and hospitality of the waitress was good and the whole experience was lovely. ”

“ Overall, it was a good solid meal but there were details that took away from/add to the experience. I would happily revisit and recommend to others. We went about lunch time Christmas eve. First impressions: My sense of smell is very sensitive so I was hit with a wet dog smell when we walked in. The smell lingered on the table so I would recommend for the restaurant to be attentive to changing over their table cloths often. We persisted and ordered Bun Mam, Hu Tieu and Pho Bo. The meal that came out was really quite good in terms of ingredient quality, full of flavour, full assortment of condiments that you struggle to find in other stores due to cost cutting. But here is where it could be improved: Bun mam - came out with a tamarind sauce and vegs that included râu đắng (bitter herb/bitter mint/indian chickweed) but ít was missing bắp chuối (banana blossom) and lotus stems. The banana blossom and lotus stem is a nice to have but it really elevates the meal when you have it. In the bowl: the “mam” component needs to be thicker, stronger and sweeter. And to me, it’s abit unusual to have a spicy bun mam, which leads me to think the kitchen used the bun bo hue broth as a base for the soup and stirred in some mam, which is not how you make this broth but overall, it’s a good cheats way if that’s the case. The meal included all the usual toppings of a good bum mam but without a stuffed pepper. The peeled prawns still had orange prawn juice in the head which husband didn’t like but the vnmese in me didn’t mind. Hu Tieu: Here we compare to the OG Hu Tieu from Tra Vinh Footscray and St Albans, both stores are now closed and we’re quite sad about it. We’ve been having Hu Tieu Tra Vinh nearly 25 years so we were thrilled to see the “Tra Vinh” banner mistaking it for a Springvale location. I think the stores and owners are unrelated. Nevertheless, the bowl did not disappoint but can be improved: pork slices was too chunky and could be thinner. Prawn head juice didn’t wow. No rendered pork fat oriental celery which would “make” the meal. I can’t remember if it came with garlic chives. Pho Bo - My 4yo son happily ate the pho and it came with all the usual toppings. Tasty and had quality beef. ”
